Yield |
The dividends being paid expressed as a percentage of the current price. For example, if a stock selling at $20 per share paid a dividend of $2.50, the yield would be 12.5% (2.5 dividend by 20). Also known as "return." |

A measure of the total return on a longterm bond. The yield is approximated by dividing the adjusted interest by the average price. |
